Custom Night Sky Star Map for the Most Special Moments {Unique Gift Series}

It’s October 29th, and I’m totally Halloweened out. I know it’s a smidge early to be thinking about Christmas (but is it really?), but the stores make it impossible to ignore.
We’ve never been huge gift-givers in my family. We used to do a grab bag among my sisters and brothers-in-law, but that ended up being a big flop when we all just bought each other gift cards. I could just spend the $50 on myself, if that’s where we ended up, right?
It’s hard to find just the right gift sometimes, and I admit, gift cards are an easy way out.
So, we don’t really do formal gift-giving anymore; we all just kind of give gifts when we feel like it and have the funds.
Personally, I don’t really buy gifts just to buy a gift. But if I find something special that I know someone will like, that’s when gift-giving is meaningful to me. So, I’m always on the hunt for unique, meaningful gifts – so, hence this series.
I’ll be sharing some unique gifts that I think you’ll love to give and others will love to receive.
Here is one of my absolute favorites:
A Custom Night Sky Star Map
Jennifer from Modern Map Art approached me to review her Custom Night Sky Star Map, and I immediately fell in love. I ADORE the idea of having a map of the starry sky on the night of some special, momentous occasion, in the location of where it happened. For me, the event I really wanted to commemorate in the night sky was the birth of my twin sons. Those boys are my rainbow babies, my miracle babies. After 2 miscarriages and failed infertility treatments, thanks to God first and science next, we had our boys via IVF in spite of many risk factors.
That was a night I never wanted to forget.
And I knew this picture would be the perfect addition to their room, especially since they are obsessed with stars and outer space these days.
Jennifer was so easy to work with. We went back and forth with the details, and she was eager to make sure she got it just right. The platform on the site was super-simple to use. She sent over a mock-up before the final print was sent, and it arrived so fast, within days of its completion.
Here’s the picture in the frame as soon as I got it:
You can choose whatever heading you want, whatever you text you want. Then you just input the location and the date, and they will produce a custom night sky star map, with the GPS coordinates. Isn’t is fantastic?!? This would be perfect for wedding gifts, anniversary gifts, the birth of a child, any special date you want to remember.
You can order as small as 8×10″ up to 24X36″, which is what I have. You can choose a poster, framed print or canvas. You choose the font, the color scheme and if you want a border. You can do all this online at their website, and it’s super-simple. Definitely head over and just play around! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
My picture is in Navy text, sky, and border. I used the October Twilight font for the heading and the Angeline Vintage font for the message (which you can custom-create!).
So, how does it look displayed? Here’s how I decorated my sons’ room:
I have the picture displayed right above the rocker where their ‘Baby A’ and ‘Baby B’ blankets are placed.
On the wall next to it, I have a ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ hanging, to go along with the starry theme.
Here’s a fuller view of the picture on display in their room.
I totally love how it came out! You will not be disappointed! If you are looking for a unique gift this season, head over to Modern Map Art. And let me know if you get one! I would love to see your finished product!
Thoughts? I’d love to hear them! Leave a comment so we can chat!
