Are you looking for fun and fancy drinks for your Christmas party, sans alcohol? Here are 33 delicious hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks you can serve! These mocktails are perfect for parties with kids, pregnant moms, and for those who otherwise choose not to drink!
Considering Every Guest with Non-Alcoholic Hot Drinks and Mocktails
It can be really hard to consider everyone when you’re planning a party, whether that be food allergies and preferences, activities, and games.
Drinks also fall into the ‘hard-to-negotiate’ category. While it seems so counter-cultural not to serve alcohol at a holiday party you’re hosting, there are actually a lot of good reasons not to.
Here are just a few good reasons to serve non-alcoholic drinks at a Christmas party.
1| Kids might be present.
It can get confusing about which drinks kids are allowed to have. In the chaos of celebrating, it’s hard to keep a watchful eye, and a child might accidentally pick up a drink with alcohol.
And, if you know a sneaky teen or two, this can be especially challenging!
Non-alcoholic drinks allow everyone to mix and mingle freely, without be worried or bothering over if guests have the appropriate drinks.
2| Pregnant moms can’t drink.
While this might be obvious, what’s not obvious is that some women are not obviously pregnant yet. They may be early in their pregnancy or haven’t announced yet.
Having non-alcoholic options is really doing these pregnant mamas (and their babies) a huge favor.
3| Those struggling with alcohol might be present.
Unless you are super-close with every person attending, it’s just hard to know exactly who might be privately struggling with alcohol addiction. It is extremely considerate to not add an extra temptation to their private battle.
4| Some may have healthy restrictions.
For health reasons – whether it’s a healthy lifestyle or chronic health problems, alcohol might not be the healthy choice for some, for a variety of reasons.
This allows your guests not to have to choose between their health and a holiday beverage.
5| It avoids awkward situations.
I think we’ve all experienced what happens when someone has too much alcohol. It’s awkward at best and can be dangerous and destructive at worst.
For a holiday party, it’s just one less thing to stress over. Nobody wants to be worried about who is able to drink responsibly and who doesn’t know their limits.
6| Some may have religious convictions.
There may be some present that, for religious reasons, do not drink. Avoiding alcohol all-together is a thoughtful option for those guests.
As a Christian, while drinking is not forbidden in the Bible, getting drunk is. As a host, I really wouldn’t want to provide an opportunity for someone to go against his or her conscience or providing an opportunity for what might be a temptation or sin for them.
And if you’re worried about not serving alcoholic drinks? You can always serve a handful in another location or leave alcohol available to add to the drinks if guests desire.
