My Unexpected Secret-Weapon-Toddler-Mom-Hack
Sometimes, moms, what comes to our rescue comes out of the blue. And delivered right to our door. Keep reading to see what saved the day for me!

You never really know when something unexpected will come to your rescue when you feel like your whole day is caving in on you…
What is seeming to be the norm around here, my twin boys were having an ‘off day.’ Toddler moms -you know what I’m talking about…they don’t want anything you serve them for breakfast, they don’t like any toys they have to play with, even your go-to favorite TV show can’t satisfy them or get them out of their funk.
Fun being a toddler mom, right?
Well, my boys were taking turns at having a day like this just last week – the weather was rainy, they both were coughing, sneezing and had runny noses…and I had started to feel the same way. I knew I had an impending food shopping trip in the future, but as the morning unfolded, I was mentally calculating just how long I could get by with the food and products in my house… if I scrounged, I probably could put it off until tomorrow. Apple sauce and veggie straws might have to be good enough for lunch (and honestly, they weren’t eating anything I was serving anyway, so… is it really that bad of a meal?)
As per usual, any time we get a box at the door, it’s a huge event. So, when the mailman dropped off the Amazon box, well, it was enough excitement to distract them from whatever they were disgruntled with at the moment. They thought it was for them, from the fairies (our little fable we’ve invented to get them to give up the pacifiers)… so, not really having the energy to contradict, I just went with it.
“Yup! Let’s see what the fairies brought you!”
Inside….36 rolls of Scott Comfort Plus toilet paper. (What kind of fairies are you?!?)
The odds were moving in my favor when the boys were none the wiser that the box wasn’t really for them. They immediately crawled into it, started loading their trucks inside the parking garage, and began climbing on top of the box and the standing on the toilet paper. I let them take out a few rolls to stack up (seemed a worthy sacrifice), and they were as happy as could be. You’d think I’d just let them loose in Toys R Us (well…I guess Target’s the big toy store now?)
Thank you, Amazon and Scott. I owe you big today.
As I was feeling all kinds of appreciation and love for both Amazon and Scott, I {appropriately} went to use the bathroom, and guess what I discovered?
All out of toilet paper.
On a day like the one we were having, this shouldn’t have surprised me. All at once, I was SO grateful I’d had the foresight to have toilet paper delivered to my door and didn’t have to figure a way to get my boys to – A. find the paper towels – B. get them to bring it to me, and -C. well, do I really need to go there? You get the idea.
After that, the fun just kept rolling and now the boys now had to use the potty. And guess what I discovered?
Out of baby wipes (I told you I was really pushing it as far as supplies go).
So without any other options, I introduced toilet paper‘s true purpose to our boys. And thankfully, this new Scott Comfort Plus is strong AND soft, so the boys didn’t really even notice I wasn’t using baby wipes on their bottoms. And, they didn’t even catch on to how incredibly useful and lifesaving their new toy from the fairies was.
So, did I ever think I’d owe Amazon and Scott this kind of thanks on my toddler meltdown day? Not really, but in addition to being my secret weapon, there was more to love:
- Scott’s Comfort Plus is stronger, softer and clog-free – safe on the septic system.
Clog free? Those are magic words for any toddler mom! And did you know that Scott also has flushable wipes? Flushable wipes?!? Where have you been all my life?!?
- Scott’s Comfort Plus is convenient and cheap when you order from Amazon.
It’s super-convenient to order from Amazon and have toilet paper delivered to your door, especially when you have crazy days with the kids and can’t get out. There’s a $1.50 off coupon plus an extra 15% off when you subscribe (so you never run out of toilet paper in those oh-so-awkward situations). It came to just about $20 for 36 rolls when ordered on Amazon.
How fun is that?!? You definitely should enter this sweepstakes -no purchase necessary. My little guys are HUGE fans of race cars and NASCAR, so they’d LOVE seeing their ‘toy from the fairy’ plastered all over a race car!
So as for secret-weapon-toddler-mom-hack, Scott Comfort Plus came to the rescue – with entertainment for the littles and with much needed toilet paper delivered to my door when I was held prisoner by said littles. Ordering Scott Comfort Plus from Amazon pays out in dividends – it’s soft, it’s strong, it won’t clog your toilet, it comes in a huge box for your kid to play with, there’s bulk TP for all sorts of toddler entertainment, and it doubles as a nice, soft tissue when you’re out of those, too.
Who would have thought that door-delivered bulk toilet paper would have been such a secret weapon to save the day? This definitely could become a thing in our house.
Toddler moms are not choosy about who (or what) rescues them on any given day.
Amazon and Scott – you won me over. Well played.

And hang on to those leftover toilet paper rolls – they’re great for toddler crafts! This site has a TON of ideas! Toilet paper to the toddler-mom rescue (again).
