Easter Story Crafts to Keep the Right Focus
If you have kids or work with kids, you know what a battle it is to fight the consumerism of the age, especially when it comes to Christian holidays. Helping kids move from ‘me’ to God and others can feel like an uphill battle, sometimes.
Today, I want to share some ideas that you can do with the kids in your life – whether you’re a teacher, parent, grandparent, or church volunteer. These are Jesus Easter crafts, that keep Him front and center during this special holiday.
Included are not only crafts for preschool or the younger ones, but there are several other activities you can do with the big kids and teens as well like games, baking, and age-appropriate crafts.
Celebrating Easter is not just about a cute Easter craft – it’s helping our kids from a young age conceptualize the enormous meaning of the Easter story and how that changed EVERYTHING.
I want to encourage you all, especially if you are working with little, keep it up and just keep hammering away at getting those stories inside them. My sons are almost 10 now, and while we enjoyed traditional Easter crafts and treats and baskets and the Easter bunny, we made it a point to always spotlight the real reason for the holiday.
As time goes on, they understand and internalize more and more each year.
These crafts or activities might feel like fun and games or just something to do pass the hour in Sunday School, but trust God with each little seed you sow.
