Heyyyy!
I’m so glad you’re back for Day 9 of the 12 Days of Christmas tour!
Today is Thanksgiving, and as I thought about what to focus on today, knowing that tomorrow, holiday season is in full swing, I felt like a short break from the logistics of crafts and baking and gift-giving would be a good pause.
To that end, I want to share a few ideas about what you can do as a family this season.
On Day #5, I shared how to keep a Christ-centered Christmas. I still think that is priority #1 for the holidays.
But right behind it is being intentional about spending quality time together as a family and creating what I hope will be core memories for you and your kids!
When I shared about advent calendars, there are 2 advent calendars included in that bundle that family activities and acts of kindness.
If you like something that’s laid out for you and easy to follow, that is available for to print for free. If you’re a subscriber, it’s in the free library! If not, you can sign up and grab it here.
But maybe a daily advent calendar is too much of a commitment for you (I’ve been there!), and you just want the freedom to pick and choose a few activities to do together.
I’ve got you covered there too! Here is a Christmas Family Bucket List. This printable has 30 different activities that are FREE (or almost free).
With this printable, you can just choose the activities you want and that fit your schedule. There’s also a page where you can cut them out and schedule them out as you choose.
I encourage you to think about what activities would be most meaningful for you to do together. Maybe you already have some Christmas traditions – or maybe some of these activities will become traditions.
If you love being adventurous and going out to local events, do it! If you like being a homebody and love snuggling on the couch drinking hot cocoa and watching Christmas movies (I’ve got a printable for family-friendly Christmas movies, too!), do it! (This is also in the free library if you’re a subscriber!).
The point is to make sure you’re taking a break for the hecticness of the parties and Christmas shopping and gift-giving to spend quality time with your family.
It can be hard to slow it down, especially when the calendar fills up sooooo fast. I hope these resources will not only help you, but give you a reminder before we jump headfirst into the season, to be intentional with your family time (and not be afraid to say no!).
That’s it for today… I’ll see you tomorrow for Day #10.
