Welcome back to Day #2 of the 12 Days of Christmas Tour!
(If you missed Day#1, cozy cottage Christmas decor ideas and DIYs, you can check it out here!)
I so appreciate so many of your thoughtful comments and emails and positive response to this kickoff! Especially your heartfelt condolences on the passing of my Nana, that I shared in my email.
She was an amazing woman… she was the last of my living grandparents, 96 years old. She lived near us in Tennessee for almost a year before she passed, so I’m so thankful for that extra time we had with her.
On to today’s tour!
This year, I had a really special opportunity to join up with some extremely talented bloggers for their Christmas home tour. Many of these bloggers are ones I personally follow myself and am inspired by!
I almost backed out because of the situation we have going on at our house… the kitchen reno gone wrong. It just seemed like a crazy time to participate in this, knowing that my house wasn’t set up exactly like I wanted it to be – and to be honest, kind of a disaster in some spaces.
But it was a good lesson for me also.
Things aren’t always perfect in real life, in spite of what it looks like on Instagram. Sometimes we just have to do the best we can with what we’re working with. And, probably most important – things (including our homes!) don’t need to be perfect for us to find and maintain joy and be thankful for all the blessings we have!
Life will NEVER be perfect, so it’s always a timely reminder to bloom where we’re planted.
The tour started on Monday, Nov. 18 and ends today, Thursday, Nov. 21. Today is the day I share my home, and I admit, it comes with a degree of vulnerability knowing I’m not really at the top of my game for this home tour.
But I hope it encourages you that, if you find yourself in a chaotic moment in your life, you’re in good company. Solidarity goes a long way in bringing comfort, I think. And we can always find and create touches of beauty wherever we find ourselves.
So as you look through their tours – and I hope you’ll check them all out and grab some wonderfully creative ideas – please resist the urge to compare. None of us are meant to be exactly like others, and it’s so important to do what YOU love, with what YOU have, and what works for YOU and brings joy to YOU and your family.

This year, I went with a white, gold, and green color palette, which includes lots of budget-friendly ideas and more easy DIYs.
