40+ Cheap and Easy DIY Christmas Ornaments
This is a very simple craft made with a repurposed sweater and a Dollar Tree ornament! If 'cheap and easy' are your wheelhouse, this is speaking your language! Perfect for rustic and farmhouse style decor - pretty enough to sell! How adorable is this, now. Made from scrap fabrics and cinnamon sticks. So, so cute. If you love the smell of cinnamon around Christmas time, this one really takes it up a few notches! And if your decor leans toward minimalist and Scandanavian for Christmas, this will fit in perfectly. And if you want another ornament craft with that amazing cinnamon smell, this is a beautiful ornament - and just a wee bit simpler than the one above! I'm a big fan of repurposing Dollar Tree items for trendy decor - these ornaments are amazing. Ready to make with Dollar Tree supplies. Jute string is so trendy these days, and I just love it in this mini wreath. And look at those embellishments. All the heart eyes. Another great ornament using jute string. For a farmhouse look, you absolutely cannot go wrong with jute. I've been swooning over these for about a year now. Beyond ornaments, I have so many ideas for these goodies. Love, love, love. These are another one of my favorites! You can buy the ornaments pre-wrapped in burlap and just stamp, or do it yourself. So fun, either way. Embroidery hoop crafts are so popular these days, too - I love that little Charlie Brown tree on this ornament. Precious. Here's another spin on an embroidery hoop ornament - this time with faux concrete (concrete projects are majorly trending these days, so this is perfect if you're on that track!). This is a simple sewing project for a Christmas ornament, but you can even use fabric glue as an easy hack! As a big fan (and creator) of printables, I LOVE the idea of using one as an ornament! Printables as ornaments opens up so many possibilities. This craft comes with a free printable. I love the little boho flair in these farmhouse ornaments! Even beyond your tree, these would look amazing displayed around the house. If you like the rustic look, these wood ornaments have that natural, primitive feel to it, made with wood slices and yarn. Like a good, old-fashioned Christmas. I love this variation of a wood slice ornament! There are so many ways to use a wood slice on a tree or as decor (think: garland). Do yourself a favor and pick up a few bags from Hobby Lobby (or at a Christmas tree farm - they often give away the bottoms after they trim the trees). They won't go to waste! Look at these cuties from nature! Some pine cones, acorns, walnuts, with a little paint, and there you go! I'm all for mostly free decor! If you want another idea for an ornament using objects from nature, why not try this mini-gourd ornament? So, so cute. Bringing in a beachy vibe to Christmas decor is such a fun and unexpected surprise. For ornaments, anything goes. So if you're a summer person, this is perfect for you. Who doesn't love shiplap? This is aorable for an ornament - and of course, you can write anything you want. The shiplap implication won't be lost. Can you believe these are made from paper? They are just lovely! If you love nature decor but don't necessarily like bringing nature inside, give this a try! While we are working with paper, how about these origami waterbombs? So cute - just stick a hook in them or thread with string. Salt dough projects have been around for a while, but I just adore this take on it. The beautiful stamp on this ornament takes it way over the top. Just gorgeous. Applesauce and cinnamon - that's it! And a few other spices if you want! Sooo easy! Very similar to salt dough. My sons and I made these last year and they smell amazing. Give this one a try! These are just beautiful, aren't they? You can totally customize to your favorite colors and decor. This is a really sweet craft to make with beads! Kid-friendly, and I love the Scandanavian look of these stars! If vintage decor is your thing, you'll love these wooden spool ornaments. It really doesn't get any more nostalgic than this! Oh, decoupage. What a gift this is to the crafting world. You NEVER run out of options with decoupage. Have at it. This ornament really has a vintage vibe to it. I'm a fan of book page crafts, and this one does not disappoint! If book pages aren't your thing, how about a map? This is a fabulous idea for a family that has traveling in their blood! Mason jars and scrabble tiles! Does it really get any more farmhouse than this?!? Just love it. Also could make cute personalized gifts as well! Macrame is making a huge comeback these days. This little wreath is perfect to add a fun, slightly boho flair to your tree. This is a super-cute modern ornament with a little bling on it! I love the girly-girl feel to it. There is not a material that's off-limits when it comes to ornaments! This one is made from wood shims! If you're a bit of a hoarder and like to repurpose, I promise there's a place for you! I LOVE projects using reverse canvas. It's such a clever hack when you need a frame. This is perfect as an ornament - free svg included! (If you don't have a Silhouette or Cricut, I've done similar projects using printables and cardstock!) These just look magical, don't they? I love the pine cones inside. Made from clear photo ornaments. Genius! Oh, here's another one that I just LOVE! I love the minimalist look to this - and the imperfect nature of them only adds to the charm. Perfection, really. How cute is this?! This is so easy and adorable, if you're looking for another felt DIY craft! If you know me, you know I love a good upcycle! How fun are these! Old sweaters put to perfect use! Stained clothespin made into stars. I just love the genius of these crafts - and the simplicity! Cheap and beautiful. Just my style. So mini but so cute! And very easy to put together. Best - no gluing or sewing! Yay!
