Last-Minute Christmas Pretzel Rod Gifts

When it comes to Christmas, I always want to give a ‘little something’ to just about everyone. But that can be tough on the budget, as well as time.

These easy chocolate-covered Christmas pretzel rods are a simple solution. These pretzel rods look pretty just wrapped in cellophane with a sweet bow. But I wanted to do something a little extra – so I created these printable pretzel rod toppers!

First, I’ll share what you get with the free printable tags. Then, I’ll explain how to make the pretzel rods (they are SO simple!) 

 

What’s Included in the Free Printable Christmas Pretzel Treat Toppers

In this little set, you’ll get background cards to go inside cellophane pretzel wrappers.

 

You’ll also get 3 different versions of toppers:

Blank Merry Christmas 

These are for generic gift giving – gifts you want to give out at random. Maybe it’s something you’re selling at a Christmas market or just handing out to the general public? This more for a non-personal gift.

“From” Only

These tags are great for broad distribution. Think – Christmas class party or a basket of pretzel rods in the office break room. Or maybe you’re delivering some to the local police station. You don’t have specific recipients, but you want them to know who it’s from.

“To” and “From”

These are specific recipients – friends, neighbors, individual coworkers or teachers.

You get all of these in the printable bundle – there’s a page for each type of topper, so you can print out the one that works best for you!

 

There’s also a page of toppers only, in each design, so you can create bulk gifts without the background cards.

Cards measure approximately 2″ x 9″ to fit perfectly in a pretzel cellophane bags.

Toppers measure 1.75″ x 3″ when folded (3.5″ x 3″ unfolded).

Bonus Usage Ideas

You can also use these tags for Christmas chocolate lollipops or pencils! Anything long and thin would work with these cards!

You can also fill them up the cellophane bags with other Christmas treats.

 

How to Dip Pretzel Rods

Ingredients for Christmas Pretzel Rods

Almond bark or chocolate melts

Pretzel rods

Dye-free Christmas sprinkles

Other Materials Needed

Parchment paper or silicone mat

Cookie sheet

Plate

Cellophane pretzel wrappers

Free printable pretzel rod toppers (see below)

Stapler, glue stick, glue dots, or double-sided tape

Paper trimmer (optional)

Cardstock

Instructions for Christmas Pretzel Rods

1| Melt almond bark or chocolate melts.

Before starting, place parchment paper or silicone mat on a cookie sheet. Also have a paper plate handy.

I melt mine in a shallow bowl the microwave. I start with about 60 seconds and then stir. Sometimes stirring will melt the remained of the chocolate chunks. Melt in 30 second increments until fully melted.

2| Cover half the pretzel with chocolate.

If your bowl is shallow enough, you can roll half your pretzel in the chocolate. If not, use a spoon and drip the chocolate over the pretzel, twirling it so all ‘sides’ of the pretzel are covered.

3| Drizzle with sprinkles.

Over a paper plate, drizzle sprinkles over the melted chocolate, again twirling it so all sides are covered.

4| Set out to dry.

Place pretzels on the parchment paper or cookie sheet to dry. You can leave them on the counter or put in the fridge to speed things up.

How to Package and Display Pretzel Rods

5| Prepare the pretzel wrappers.

First, print out the pretzel rod toppers on cardstock and then cut out. I like to use a paper trimmer for nice, smooth edges.

Then insert the cards inside the cellophane pretzel bags.

If using the toppers with the ‘to’ and ‘from’ options, fill them out before assembling. Then, fold them in half.

6| Package the pretzels.

Once the chocolate-dipped pretzels are dry, place them inside the wrapper with the cards. Fold the pretzel topper and attach to the top of the pretzel bag.

You can use a simple stapler, but the staples will show on the tag.

If you want to attach them ‘invisibly,’ use a glue stick, double-sided tape, or glue dots.

7| Give out as holiday pretzel treat gifts.

These pretzels are super-cute as a party favor, a class party treat, or to give as small gifts to teachers, neighbors, coworkers, the mailman, small group and Bible study friends-  anyone!
