Outrageously Festive (& Easy!) S’mores Christmas Charcuterie Board

(Wannabe) Charcuterie Boards Win It for Every Occasion
If you’ve been around here any length of time, you might have realized that I’m a huge fan of the charcuterie board.
If you know me IRL, you might know that they are pretty much my go-to any time I need to bring something for a gathering.
First, I always make the disclaimer that I know these boards aren’t authentic charcuterie boards (those are your meat | nuts | olives | crackers | cheese boards). So yes, it’s probably more accurate to say a ‘dessert board’ or a ‘grazing board’ or a ‘snack board’ or a ‘brunch board.’
Whatever you call it, they are my favorite. I’ve created dessert dip boards, bread boards, apple dipping boards, sweet and savory boards… and I’ve also rounded up brunch boards as well as kid-friendly boards.
Today, I want to share a Christmas board with something that we typically think of as a fall or camping favorite: a S’mores board. It’s the perfect way to invent an old favorite with a new twist.
What is a S’more?
My guess is that you already know what traditional S’mores are but just in case, here it is.
The classic S’mores sandwich consists of a center layer of gooey marshmallows (typically a roasted marshmallow, cooked over some kind of open fire), a layer of chocolate, held together on top and bottom by graham cracker.
This is the S’mores prototype, but as you’ll see, you can fancy up this treat you’d generally see on a camping trip and truly create gourmet S’mores in endless combinations.
Today, we are going to create a fun S’mores charcuterie board, perfect for any holiday party with both kids and adults.

What I especially love about boards in general is that you do not need to be a great cook or baker to create an outstanding and impressive board. It’s one of my favorite things about them.
Every time I brought or served a board, everyone is so ‘wowed’ by it. I honestly get a little embarrassed because they are so ridiculously easy.
It just takes a little arranging skills to make them pretty, but the minimal prep time makes them a great idea. And it’s a genuinely impressive and beautiful presentation.
And the very best part might even be how easy it is to put together, especially last minute. This season can get crazy, and a S’mores dessert board the answer for something you can quickly throw together.
So, let me share a little bit about what you’ll need for this delicious S’mores board and how to put it together with just a few simple steps.
Supplies
A serving board or tray
While you can use a flat, round wooden board serving platter, I recommend using this only if you aren’t transporting it. Or, if you plan to assemble it on location.
Otherwise, you really want to use more of a tray, with some edges around it to secure the materials.
A tabletop mini fire pit
This is where the magic comes in and what makes this so much fun. You can purchase a little fire pit like this to put right on the tabletop.

It’s such a fun way to make a toasted marshmallow! This is perfect for indoor S’mores and an extra bit of cozy for a Christmas party.
To make it extra festive, you can also get Christmas-themed skewers!
In a pinch, if you aren’t able to get a hold of a mini fire pit, Marshmallow Fluff could also work!
Another back-up idea if you can grab a fire pit is to use a kitchen torch or Click n Flame Lighter and roast marshmallows that way (disclaimer: I haven’t tried these ideas personally! Best to give it at trial run, first!).
** Of course, if you are serving this to children, there should always be adult supervision when the fire pit is lit and in use.
Marshmallows
So this is what makes this a next level Christmas board – Christmas Peeps.
You can get these Christmas Peeps as snowmen, Christmas trees, gingerbread men, and Christmas stockings. How fun are these?!?!
You can certainly use regular marshmallows, but the Christmas Peeps are what gives the appearance of this being a Christmas board and provides themed S’mores, just for Christmas.
If you aren’t able to find Christmas Peeps, just go ahead and use white jumbo marshmallows. Or to level up, try Stuffed Puffs, marshmallows filled with cookies or chocolate (save a step or two!)
Chocolate Layer
You definitely want to have milk chocolate or dark chocolate bars. But don’t just stop with Hershey’s chocolate!
You can also include Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups as well to add some richness and decadence. And don’t forget about white chocolate bars, which only enhance the Christmas theme.
I included Hershey’s Cookies-and-Cream chocolate bars, and it was a-amazing!
Basically, any candy bars where you could break a flat-ish piece of chocolate would work!
Outside Graham Cracker Layer
We typically think of your regular honey graham or cinnamon graham crackers for the outer ‘sandwich’ portion of the S’mores. And those are perfectly amazing for these sweet treats.
But there are so many options to create a sweet twist.
You can also include chocolate graham crackers, chocolate-covered graham crackers (this can also substitute your chocolate layer in one item!), Fudge Stripe cookies, chocolate chip cookies, shortbread cookies, iced oatmeal cookies…. whatever your heart desires!
Assembly
There really is no major trick to arranging this. I found some super cute Christmas parchment paper sheets to lay on the bottom of the tray to make it more festive.
Of course, you want the fire pit to be in the center of the board.
Then, I just alternated the S’mores cookies with the chocolate options, spreading out various colors just to create some contrast!
Where to Serve a S’more Christmas Dessert Board
Well, that’s easy! Anywhere! Any Christmas occasion!
