Are you looking for a classy wreath that you can hang on your door for Christmas? Even better if you can keep it all up for winter, too? I’ve got you covered! See how I made this gorgeous and easy wreath for Christmas using repurposed materials!
The Dilemma of a Christmas Wreath
For past few years for Christmas, I’ve used a very simple wreath.
It was a plain green wreath I found on clearance at Walmart.
I added a few clippings of lamb’s ear with white berries and hung big gold bells through the middle.
It’s very simple, and I still love it.
But this year, I wanted to change it up a little. As I was shopping for Christmas decorations, I was looking for a new wreath, but just didn’t see anything I liked.
I remembered that I had saved a picture of a wreath on my phone. When I looked it up, I realized that it was wayyyyy out of my price range. I’m all for supporting small businesses, but I just couldn’t afford a wreath with that price tag.
But I knew that was the wreath I wanted to make.
And why not? I’m always up for a DIY.
DIY Bells and Bow Christmas Wreath

This is a very easy DIY that I repurposed from a wreath I had purchased at a thrift store.
This wreath had already been repurposed a few times.
Let me show you previous versions of this wreath.
Here’s a Christmas version:
And here’s a winter version:
However, I knew if I pulled it apart a little and added some more greens and embellishments, I could come pretty close to my dream wreath in the picture.
Here’s how I did it:
Supplies
Variations of faux green stems (cedar, pine, eucalyptus as well as non-Christmas type leafy greens)
Floral wire and snips
Ticking strip ribbon with wire
Glue gun
Directions
1| Begin sticking greens into wreath form, working from your ‘center’ (where you will place the bow. My center was the lower-ish left ‘corner’ – between 7-8 o’clock.)
You shouldn’t really need a glue gun for this part. I just poked the greens inside the grapevine wreath form, but feel free to use a glue gun to secure any loose pieces.
2| Use differing greens as you work your way up and down your center point.
As you add greens, ‘fan’ the greens so they spread off the wreath form.
3| Once the wreath is filled out to your liking, cut a long piece of ribbon and tie a large bow. Once the bow is tied, thread floral wire through the back of the bow and attach to the wreath. Cut the ends of the bow on a diagonal.
4| Take 3 craft bells and cut one end of the loop closest to the base. Arrange bells so they gradually hang down. Join all 3 together at the top with a long piece of floral wire so they stay as you arrange them. Use can use a glue gun first before the floral wire, if desired.
Take the floral wire and secure the bells to the wreath, underneath the bow.
And that’s all there is to it!
I think this is one of favorite DIY wreaths, and I love that I can keep it up all through the winter!
