What I Love About This Christmas Party Dessert

If you love Little Debbie snack cakes, this dessert could probably stand on its own. But there are a few reasons why I especially love this one version.

First, it’s no bake. There are some times in the Christmas season when I’m absolutely baked out. There’s no baking involved, so you really can’t mess this up.

Second, it’s great for last-minute. If you need something you can throw together quickly because maybe you just didn’t have time or didn’t get around to it (or forgot until the last minute???), this is the perfect solution. A quick trip to the store and problem solved.

Third, what I think is extra special about this dessert and what I personally think sets it apart is how it’s served. It has a little bit of extra ‘fancy’ to it.

I’ll be 100% honest here… when I brought this to a ladies Christmas party at church, I brought both versions. The individually served mini-trays of dessert dip and dippers and a bowl of dessert dip with dippers surrounding it.

The results? The individually served desserts were almost completely gone. The other bowl was almost completely untouched.

I think people liked the idea of just having a little sample of a dessert in a small portion, especially when there are other desserts to taste.

And a grab-and-go dessert is so easy and accessible!

There are quite a few of these recipes floating around out there. I like to keep it simple, but of course, feel free to use variations!

Some call for more Little Debbie cakes, some use more cream cheese, and some use heavy whipping cream instead of Cool Whip.

Here’s how I did it:

Ingredients for Little Debbie Christmas Tree Dessert Dip

1 box of 5 Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes

1 8 oz block of cream cheese (softened)

1 8 0z container of Cool Whip

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/3 cup milk (add this in as needed)

 Christmas sprinkles

Dippers (I used Mini Cinnamon Sugar Club Crackers and Nilla Wafers)

To make individual servings, I used the little mini plastic trays and mini spoons from Dollar Tree.

Instructions

1| Unwrap 5 Christmas tree cakes and break into small pieces in a bowl. Add cream cheese and vanilla and use a hand mixer until well-combined.

Shredded Christmas-themed candy canes on vanilla ice cream in a green bowl, festive holiday dessert, colorful seasonal treat, peppermint candies for Christmas, enjoyable winter holiday sweets.

It should look something like this once it is mixed.

2| Fold in Cool Whip and mix with spatula. If it’s too hard to combine by hand, you can use an electric mixer. You can also add in up to 1/3 cup milk if it’s too stiff.

3| Refrigerate until ready to serve in small dishes.

4| When ready to serve, depending on serving size trays, spoon about 2-4 tablespoons (about 1/4 cup) of dip onto a mini-tray. Sprinkle with Christmas sprinkles.

5| Add 2-3 dippers and a mini-spoon to the tray and serve!

You can also put dip on mini-tray ahead of time and refrigerate. Then, add sprinkles and dippers before serving.

My serving plate held about 20 trays. I put the extra dip in a bowl with dippers surrounding it to serve as well. I probably could have gotten a total of 24-26 trays, if I had the space.

Any extra dip can be refrigerated and eaten within 3-4 days.
