Signs as home decor tend to be hit or miss for me. When ‘farmhouse decor’ was in its hey-day a few years ago, word signs were all the rage, right? Do you remember?
Home decor trends have shifted away from typology and cute sayings on signs, so when the “Hello Spring” sign kit landed on my porch (1 kit from the In Bloom Craft Set by Crafted by Concord and 9th), I wasn’t 100% sure what I’d think. It had words and it had pom poms…2 staples that aren’t exactly ‘regulars’ in my decor these days.
However, I found it to be a burst of sunshine for my home and really, the accent my spring decor needed. And after completing the project, I can give it a clear ‘2 thumbs up’!
Let me tell you why.

(This post in #1 in a series of 5 crafts. You can get an overview of all 5 crafts here!)
WHAT’S IN THE BOX
Everything you need comes inside the kit. I mean, everything – even down to the tiny tubes of glue. And it’s packaged beautifully.

One thing I noticed right away is that all the heavy lifting was done. If you want a simple craft that feels kind of mindless but has a very elevated and professional appearance, this craft kit is the way to go.
There’s a card in the box that has a QR code on the back so you can access the directions. The instructions are in both written and video form.
I love that both are included, although for this particular craft, you don’t need the video. It’s simple enough that the written instructions are absolutely sufficient.
Below is a screen shot of what you’ll see when you snap the QR code (the picture is for a different craft, but each craft has its own individual video and instruction page).

THE CRAFT EXPERIENCE
The assembly on this one was short and sweet. You are basically glueing pom poms inside cut-outs of the word ‘hello,’ and adding the word ‘spring’ at the bottom. Total time was about 20 minutes!

I especially loved that this was a quick, easy project – but you had a piece of fun decor at the end of it.

I also think this is a great option if you have a daughter or granddaughter who is into crafting or wants to learn. This is a very entry level project that anyone can do.
THE FINISHED PIECE
Hung up, the “Hello Spring” Sign is such a fun addition of whimsy. My decor tends to be neutral and…. maybe, ‘adult‘ is the word I’m looking for? I think this works well as a contrast and element of interest mixed in with my more ‘grown-up’ decor.

I also think that it’s a great project if you have kids in the house. Anything with pom poms makes a craft more fun! This would also be super-cute in a girl’ bedroom.

Mine is on my mantel, and I went ahead and combined it with the other In Bloom crafts. I love the cohesion.
These crafts make spring fun again!

- Needs a project that is already prepped
- Wants a simple craft to do with kids or grandkids – this is very kid-friendly!
- Wants fun spring decor and loves to add a little whimsy to her home
- Wants to gift a complete craft set to another craft lover or older child, preteen, or teen.
