Is your house spring-ready? We’ve got some fantastic DIYs coming your way! First in line is a rustic spring wreath!  Soooo easy to make – and just $5!

Spring Decor Up and Coming!

We just finished Valentine’s Day less than a week ago, and y’all. The daffodils are blooming already here in Tennessee. That’s a sign for me that it’s totally OK for the Valentine’s Day decorations to come down and the spring decorations to go up. And that means all the spring DIYs.

Last year at this time, we had just been in our house a few months, and there was just SO much to do… painting, getting furniture… there was some spring decorating going on, but in bits and pieces. I’m over the moon that this year, I can really work on those spring DIYs.

Cheap, Easy, and Yup – Mainly Dollar Tree

Sometime last fall, I think, I saw this bamboo wreath at Dollar Tree. I’m always grabbing craft supplies when I see them, so I bought it, not quite sure how I was going to use it.

I actually had a different screenshot of a wreath I was going to make, but this one sort of came together on its own, and I really am loving it.

This is a super-easy wreath to make… with just a few supplies and just $5.  The wreath and the roses are from Dollar Tree. The greens I grabbed at Walmart for $.97 each and I used three.

{There are other greens pictured, but I only used the dark green boxwoods from Walmart. I just put them all out because I wasn’t totally sure what I where I was going with it!}

The ribbon was from Hobby Lobby, and I’ve repurposed that roll of ribbon for just about everything, lol.

It’s pretty simple to put this wreath together and there are no real tricks.

You can do it in about 30 minutes. It’s that easy.

Here’s how I displayed it for Easter:

Take a look below to see how it’s done!

Materials

  • Bamboo or Grapevines Wreath (I got mine at Dollar Tree)
  • 2-3 green stems of your choice (Mine were $.97 each at Walmart)
  • Faux flowers of your choice (I got the blush roses at Dollar Tree)
  • Ribbon for hanging
  • Floral Wire
  • Glue Sticks

Tools

  • Floral Cutters, Pliers or Wire Cutters
  • Glue Gun

Instructions

1| Using your cutters, pull green stems and split so you have long individual strands.

2| Wrap stems one by one with floral wire to the wreath, focusing on the left side, in a semi-circle. Reinforce with more floral wire (or glue) to keep stems in place.

3| Continue to add green stems until you get to your desired fullness.

4| Pull flowers off stems and trim the pointed bottom off with cutters, so you have a flat surface.

5| Using a glue gun, attach flowers on the left side of the wreath, adding flowers up and down, until you get your desired look. Use extra glue to secure the flowers to both the greens and wreath and to each other, for a full look.

6| Cut ribbon to desired length, and pull through wreath to hang.

7| Step back and enjoy your wreath! 🙂

That’s it! Can you believe it? It really is just that simple.

This is just the 1st in line for the spring DIYs I have planned for this season and I’ll be linking them here as I complete them.
