Welcome back to Day #4 of the 12 Days of Christmas tour!
If you missed any days, you can scroll to the bottom to get caught up!
Let’s get started with our tour – all the advent things!
One week from tomorrow is December 1st – the beginning of the advent season! I wanted to get these resources to you with enough time for you to make your plans!
I’ve celebrated Advent with my sons in many ways over the years. It’s one of our seasonal highlights.
For us, it truly helps us keep our focus on Jesus with daily Bible readings, and on others, with acts of kindness, not just on our Christmas lists.
We do the fun stuff too, but I go to great lengths to make sure we are celebrating the gift of Christ and what that means for us in our lives every day.
There are several ways you can go about celebrating advent:
- Advent candles each Sunday with a corresponding reading
- Advent calendars with daily ‘surprise,’ such as a piece of candy, an ornament, or other little gift
- Advent calendars with a daily ‘activity’ which can include Bible readings, acts of kindness or just a fun activity for the kids and family to do together.
However you celebrate advent, I’ve got resources for you.
Click on the images or links to get all the details for what you need to celebrate.
The idea of this is NOT to create more work or have this seem like a chore. It’s something that works for your family while at the same time, gives you intentional focus for the season!
Printable Advent Calendar & Fillers
This printable bundle contains daily calendars for Bible readings, acts of kindness, and family activities. You can do one or all of them daily! It also includes fillers for pre-made calendars that you might have with the same activities just on daily cards you can insert into your calendar!
You can grab it by clicking here or on any of the images. If you’re already a subscriber, it’s in the free library!
And, this has been updated for 2024!
Advent Wreaths & Candles
If you enjoy just a weekly focus on Sunday for advent, you can create a simple wreath like this one. In the post, I linked up to a several weekly reading guide that you can use with this advent wreath.
It’s a very simple and focused way to celebrate.
