A Christmas Dining Table for Every Guest

Tablescapes are one of my favorite things to pull together and decorate. There is something so comforting about being around a table with people you love.
But I see it also as an extension of sharing your life and home. Growing up, my parents often invited people who had nowhere to go to our holiday dinner. It’s a place of welcome.
For me, that’s the purpose of a gorgeous table – to show guests how much they mean to you and make them feel special.
Today I’m sharing my Christmas tablescape with a green, gold, and white color palette.
Gold automatically elevates any occasion. Paired with winter greens, it’s a cozy yet elegant combo, making your guests feel special and welcome.
Classy Christmas Tablescape in Gold & Green
Our dining table is at the back of our living room. This is usually a messy, functional table (homeschool life!) – but each season, I clear it off for a few weeks to create a seasonal tablescape. Place settings show up closer to the main event! 
For the ‘runner’ – I layered 3 different garlands: a traditional faux cedar garland, a lush garland with greens including eucalyptus, and a green-gold garland with pine cones.
Essentially, I ‘braided’ them to create a full look.
For the centerpiece, I used another gold starburst in the middle of 2 hurricane vases with cream-colored pillar candles.
For dining tables, I like centerpieces with low profiles, so they do not get in the way of guests chatting across the table!
Strewn up and down the table are a mix of black and brass candle sticks, with gold and green candles, alternating.
The tree-shaped taper candles were from Target’s dollar spot, and I thought they were a really festive choice for candles. They are more whimsical than I would normally choose, but it’s an understated whimsy, so they were allowed through!
For the table settings, I layered jute placemats (which I use for just about every season), a faux cedar charger, a white plate (everyday dishes), a neutral Christmas napkin I got years ago at Hobby Lobby, and a winter tree salad plate (from Dollar Tree!).
The gold cutlery is actually plastic, but I really love how it looks on this tablescape.
On the deck doors are 2 wreaths that came with gold bows from Joann’s (RIP).
Pro Tip: Save money by using evergreen table decor and adding in some holiday accents.
Layer and ‘braid’ multiple pieces and kinds of garland for a thicker, more lush look.
Christmas Tablescape Part 2
I wasn’t planning to do an additional Christmas tablescape, but over Thanksgiving, I saw so many tables that used paper and plastic!
And gosh, what a relief!!! I figured I’d put together a more casual Christmas tablescape in gold and green, using disposable cups, plates, and utensils!
And honestly, I think I’m hooked! This might be the way to go!
For this version, I added a green tablecloth and a neutral runner, in exchange for the cream-colored linen tablecloth.
I also removed the taper candles and included rustic votive candle holders tucked inside the greenery.
Additionally, I added gold votive candle holders with a mini-wreath at the base, on top of chunky black candle sticks. 
Tablecloth is from Amazon, runner (reversible!) is from Hobby Lobby as are the plates and napkins. Plastic cups (which I show below in the drink station) are from Home Goods!
Drink Stations
These cabinets are on n both sides of the picture window near the dining table, so I’m going to include them in this tablescape. On top of each, I have 2 drink stations. One is water, one is for coffee.
Water Station
At the water station, I added cranberries and limes to the water for flavor and for a festive touch. 
Next to the flavored water jar are gold-flecked plastic cups from Home Goods as well as a pitcher of plain water (pitcher from Hobby Lobby). 
I also included some delicious Harry and David wafer cookies as a snack option, which were purchased from Home Goods also (I saw them at TJ Maxx as well!). 
Coffee Bar
For the coffee bar, I added some pretty gold Christmas tree mugs (thrift store find!) to a wood and brass Hearth and Hand coffee mug tree.
That Keurig K-Mini single serve coffeemaker is a perfect choice if you have a small space for a coffee bar, like I do!
On the tiered tray (which I believe was a Target dollar spot find from a few years ago), is peppermint coffee stirrers (Home Goods), biscotti for dipping (Trader Joe’s), Christmas candy, along with sugar, creamer, cinnamon, and ginger. 
I also included disposable Christmas to-go coffee cups as well and gold metal coffee spoon stirrers as well.
Pro Tip: Think through what guest will need at drink stations and decorate accordingly! Function is just as important as aesthetic.
