The Genius of Free Printable Gift Tags
I’m always a sucker for free printables. Bonus if it’s something that is extra functional and saves me money, too.
In a prior post, I talked about why I liked gift tags over gift cards. Let me sum up:
- Gift tags do not obligate you to write a long message! This is perfect for family or acquaintances.
- Gift cards can be really expensive!
- Cards and tags usually end up in the trash, which makes #2 so much more frustrating (and a waste of money, usually!)
I love tags because they are sweet, simple, and get the job done: identify who the gift is to and from. Sure, sometimes you want to say a little more for someone special.
Then definitely spend the money on a gift card! But for gifts that are given in bulk or you really don’t need to say too much, gift gags are perfect.
And free printable gift tags are even more perfect.
Easter Basket Tags for Beauty and Function
There are all kinds of occasions where you might need Easter basket tags beyond the obvious.
Maybe you are making little goodies for your neighbor.
Maybe you give little gifts at your ladies’ Bible study or book club.
Maybe your church hands out gifts at the door.
Maybe you’re a teacher and like to give a little something to the kiddos before Easter break.
Maybe you’re hosting Easter and want to create sweet favors for your guests.
Maybe you need a sweet Easter sticker for a gift, card, or party favor.
An Easter tag like the one you see here would work for any and all occasions.
Some holidays tend to lean on the cutesy side (Valentine’s Day, Easter, etc.)… that’s generally not my vibe (and totally OK if it’s yours!). These tags lean a little more classy vintage, but totally appropriate for kids or adults. Multi-functional!
Easter Tags as Home Decor

Yes, you can even use these tags as Easter decorations for your home! Here are a few ideas.
Hang them from branches in a vase or pitcher as a centerpiece.
Place subtle scrapbook paper in a frame, add beads to a string, and hang in the center.
Hang inside an empty shadow box type frame.
(Ignore my hacked-up gingham background…I cut the paper the wrong size and had to reattach!)
Use it as a bookmark in a coffee table book (This book by Liz Marie Galvin, Cozy White Cottage Seasons, is one of my favorites to use as part of my seasonal decor).
Hang from decorative hooks around the house. (You can learn to make the dish towel wall hanging seen below right here! Super easy project!)
Use as a decorative charm on centerpiece vase or jar. (The beaded wood round tray is also another easy DIY you can create!)
Mod Podge a napkin or tissue paper in a frame and cut off top of tag. Then glue down with a glue stick!
And of course, you can always use these tags for sweet Easter gifts and baskets!
Tips for Happy Easter Tag Printing
These tags come in a single page 8.5 x 11″ PDF and are designed for easy printing at home. All you need is a colored printer and some cardstock!
Once printed, you can cut inside, outside, or on the faint grey cut lines. I prefer to cut them off, but it is really your preference.
I like to use a paper trimmer like this one to ensure that my edges are straight – I don’t trust my wobbly hands to scissors!
They are aligned for clean cut both horizontally and vertically, cutting both tags as once, to save a little extra effort.
Once they are cut, snip the side top edges off to get a traditional tag shape.
Then, hole punch through the top center at the grey dot. The dot is smaller than the hole punch circle, so don’t worry about getting it perfect.
As long as the hole puncher is somewhere over the top of it, you’ll punch the circle through, and it won’t be seen.
If you’re really a perfectionist, you can stack all 4 tags and whole punch them at the same time!
To Display Easter Tags with Beads
If you want to use one of the decor ideas above, here are some simple instructions.
Take a piece of raffia, baker’s twine, jute, ribbon, etc. about 20-24″ long.
Fold ribbon in half and put both loose ends in from the back to the front.
Put loose ends through front loop and pull.
Scotch tape the 2 ends together and feed through as many beads as you desire (I use about 3 for a picture frame. You can use a few more if you’re hanging from a hook).
Once beaded, make a knot the top, tie off, and remove tape. You can then use this as a bookmark or tape inside a picture frame or the top of a shadow box.
To use as a decoration to hang on a hook, tie loose ends to create a small loop. You can use a dab of Elmer’s glue or from a glue gun to tack down any loose edges if they bother you.
Then, hang from your hook!
Remember to fill out the box at the end of the post to get your free printable tags!
