Classy Easter Table on a Budget that Brings Big Smiles
If you need some Easter decorating ideas for your table, whether it’s centerpieces, place settings, or just festive Easter decor, keep reading! I’ll share how I did it on a budget- with some money-saving tips!
Chic Easter Table on a Budget
Decorating tablescapes and place settings has quickly become one of my favorite things when it comes to home decor. I won’t lie – I often have to eventually share the space with various and sundry Lego sets, but just seeing it comes to life.
I’ve never really put together an Easter table because – #1, we usually go out for Easter dinner, and #2, it sometimes blends with spring decor.
But this year, I thought it would be fun to challenge myself and see if I could come up with something pretty on a budget.
It’s just my opinion, of course – but I think I succeeded!
Tips to Save Money on an Easter Centerpiece, Tablescape, and Place Settings

I have twin boys whom I homeschool, so while I can take some pretty pictures, my house is not staged to perfection all day, every day. Nor do I have the funds to create these gorgeous spaces that are practical for the long-term.
So when it comes to Easter, being that it is a relatively short season, I try to save money where I can and make it work for the whole household.

Supplies
Here are a few things I purchased for my Easter table. You certainly don’t need to purchase these items – I always recommend using what you have first, then supplement when needed!

Some Easter table bling from Target Dollar Spot. 
Faux eggs as filler from Hobby Lobby (these were all 40% off ticketed price).

1| Go simple and ‘think spring’ for centerpieces and tablescapes
The beauty of Easter is that it is almost synonymous with spring. So you can use a lot of spring decor as Easter decor.
I generally try to use a spring centerpiece rather than an Easter-specific one; that way, you can keep it out for 2 seasons rather than just one!
For my Easter centerpiece, I just used fresh flowers in a mason jar!
You might be thinking that isn’t always budget-friendly. Agreed.
My favorite tip is to look for the clearance area in the grocery store flower shop! I get almost all of my flowers from the Kroger clearance section in the flower area!
These beauties were 50% off of $25 – I got them for $11 and change!
Walmart also sells flowers for $5 and $10. Trader Joe’s also has gorgeous, inexpensive bouquets.
If you really want to stretch your dollar, you can easily use faux flowers – and continue to reuse them on your table or around the house year after year!
If you feel like flowers are too obtrusive and block the view of your guests, try a low-lying basket filled with faux Easter eggs!
I got this ceramic woven basket at the Walmart dollar section for $5 and the eggs were 50% off at Hobby Lobby! Simple yet festive!
After Easter, you can use spring filler such as faux lemons!
I also like to use bud vases, candles, and faux garland across my table as a tablescape.
You can use some of the flowers from your main bouquet in bud vases. They are gorgeous and darling!
Flowers are always, always a classy choice.
And if you need some of that table to have space for the food, you can eliminate the garland!
2| Use the same decorative pieces for various seasons
Those bud vases I mentioned in the previous tip? I used them on my Valentine’s table as well as my spring! And to be honest, you could use them for fall, Christmas, and winter as well! All you need are seasonal stems.
The bud vases are so small that you really don’t even need that many, which will save you money as well!
The candles and eucalyptus garlands? Yup, I use them for various seasons as well! The neutral runner and ‘tablecloth’ (it’s really a sheer white panel curtain) are used for several seasons as well!
Candles, bud vases, garlands, and jute placemats are staples in my table decorating, and even if I have to swap out a few pieces to make them more seasonally appropriate, this gives me a base layout.
Think about a capsule wardrobe – using these items as ‘capsule decorations’ keeps decorating for each season and holiday streamlined and easy!
3| Add in inexpensive Easter accents
To differentiate this table from a spring table, I add in just a few inexpensive accents. And you only need a few items to add a festive Easter touch!
I got these clay bunnies at the Target dollar spot.
I included the gold bunny on the centerpiece tray along with the salt and pepper shaker I use every season (tip: get a pretty salt-and-pepper shaker set so you can just keep it out as part of your decor while keeping your table functional!)
Here’s another version of a centerpiece using fresh flowers and a ceramic egg that says, ‘Risen’!
You can also create the same display using a spring watering can (I got mine at Aldi) for extra color and some bonus spring flair!
These faux eggs below were part of a Hobby Lobby haul, which are generally 40-50% off all the time. Those eggs were also strewn down the center of the table among the garland, candles, and bud vases.
These charming mini glass flower candy dishes were from Michaels for just a few dollars – the colors of the pastel M & Ms also add a festive touch!
4| Use inexpensive or disposable Easter dinnerware for the place settings.
While you certainly can buy ceramic or melamine Easter dishes, there really is no need.
Here are a few items I added in for specific Easter touches at each table setting.
I used jute placemats (which I use just about every season) for the base of my place setting.
Then, I added a plastic, spring-colored plate (50 cents at Walmart!), with a beautiful disposable bunny paper plate on top.
I paired it with a floral Easter napkin (Walmart also – cheaper in the store!)
And, some pretty plastic gold utensils (you can wash and reuse if you’d like!), tied with ribbon (no napkin ring needed!) along with a plastic pastel goblets (Target dollar spot).
If you want to level up a little, you can include linen spring napkins as well as a white ceramic plate instead of plastic or disposable.
Or mix and match linen with plastic – it all works!
You can also use your everyday drinking glasses or silverware as well, since these don’t really add a specifically Easter touch.
You can also use sweet tulip egg holders (Target) and include Easter colored eggs or faux eggs. I used faux wooden eggs (Target), and you can write names on there if you wanted a fun take-home favor or to assign specific seats!
It can be tempting to want to impress our guests with the finest china and dinnerware, but honestly, my priority when entertaining is keeping things simple yet pretty. And disposable plates and tableware helps a ton!

Of course, everyone needs to create an Easter table that will work for them – but simple, pretty, and inexpensive are my goals just about 100% of the time.
I think I achieved that and don’t think I sacrificed anything by going low budget! I hope I inspired you to do the same!
