A festive Easter table is the perfect way to make your home inviting for family and dear friends who are like extended family!
Keys to the Perfect Easter Tablescape
If you’re hosting a special occasion like an Easter dinner, I know that can feel like a lot of pressure! It’s such an important day, and if you’re like me, I really want every detail to be just right.
I hope I can offer a few tips to put your mind at ease and give you some inspiration for creating some gorgeous Easter tables.
Before we get to the nitty gritty of the table itself, there are a few things to think through before you go all Hobby Lobby on your dining room table.
First, ask yourself what kind of space you’re working with.
Do you have a large table where you can have a lovely Easter tablescape that takes up a good amount of real estate?
Or, will you have room for just a statement centerpiece on your dining table?
Will you be having a sit-down dinner, therefore are interested in the details of place settings and place cards? Or will it be buffet-style?
Buffet style eliminates place settings, but you might have more space for a pretty table since you don’t need to make room for the food.
Also something to consider – will you be setting up your table to use before Easter Sunday? Or is this just a display for the holiday itself? In other words, will this be an everyday use table as well?
Know what space considerations you’re working with and what you need for the day before coming up with a decorating concept.
Second, consider your style.
Do you like more of a nature-inspired rustic theme? This may include more garden accents and spring decor.
Do you like traditional Easter decor? You may want to include Easter baskets and the Easter Bunny as part of your theme.
Are you looking to express the true meaning of Easter – Jesus’ resurrection- at your family gatherings and will your decor incorporate that? There are examples below that can help you do just that!
Are you more minimalist and simple? Casual and relaxed? You may just want a simple centerpiece or simple place settings.
Or are you more fancy and glam and like things a little over the top?
Will this be a formal celebration, where you break out the good china?
None of these answers are wrong! You just need to determine what YOU love.
Third, assess the decorations you have on hand and incorporate Easter accents.
I’ve never been a fan of going out and spending a lot of money on decor. Often, you already have a lot of what you need.
For example, you don’t need special Easter plates. You can use your simple everyday white dishes and just add Easter accents.
You don’t need an Easter table runner. A neutral or pastel-colored runner will work just fine
Dough bowls, chunky candle holders, taper candles, vases, and trays all are excellent to place on an Easter table and use with Easter accents.
You can even just pick up some fresh flowers from your local grocery store for an elegant floral centerpiece.
Spring decor works wonderfully for Easter – just add in a few Easter-specific elements (if you want!). And then, you can keep it up for a lot longer, too!
Easter is about rebirth and new life – a lot of the same symbolism for spring: birds’ nests, eggs, pussy willows, rabbits, chicks, garden motifs, and flowers.

Or you can do a few simple Easter DIY projects (which are some of my favorite things and the best way to save money!).
Think of how to incorporate a few Easter accents to distinguish it from a mere spring tablescape (if you want!).
Finally, experiment and use trial and error.
I rarely get my decorating right (i.e. the way I want it) the first time around.
Do a trial run a few days before and play around with it. See what’s missing or what’s too much. Experiment with some out of the box ideas and different colors!
Taking pictures and analyzing them is a great way to assess what you need to fix or modify.
But most of all, don’t stress! This day is about the miracle of the resurrection and being with family! The rest is just the icing on the cake – it’s not the main thing!

I started with full Easter tablescapes.
Then, I moved to Easter centerpieces, if you aren’t wanting to decorate the rest of the table.
Then finally, there are a few solo place setting ideas (though you can find those as well in the tablescapes!).
Either way, there are so many great ideas to inspire you to create lovely tables. Easter is my favorite holiday of the year – and it deserves the royal treatment for such a special celebration as Jesus’ resurrection, in my opinion.
Pay attention to each little detail – so much care went into them!
