Are you looking for fun crafts to do with friends that give you an actual reason to gather before the fireworks? A 4th of July craft night party might be the best girls’ night idea you haven’t thrown yet.

Tell me if you can picture this: cold drinks on the counter, summery snacks on the table, and your favorite people gathered around. There’s laughter and smiles and all the energy that goes with the kickoff to summer.
While there’s usually not a shortage of reasons to get friends together, a craft night is one of my favorites. And for this occasion, creating a patriotic DIY with your best people is what’s on the agenda.
The idea for this patriotic craft night party is that it’s more about fun in the process than the actual outcome – where nobody has to be an artist, the red, white and blue is flying, and everyone goes home with something cute and handmade.
Does that sound like the kind of Independence Day gathering you’re wanting? I hope so!
I’ve been pulling together the best 4th of July craft night ideas for adults, and this list covers everything — easy patriotic crafts that don’t require a huge supply run to three different stores, adult crafts to do with friends that are actually fun and not the least bit stressful, and girls night craft ideas with a fresh red, white, and blue twist that feel festive without being over the top.

As I said before, the more laughing and talking happening at the table, the better. These simple crafts for adults are forgiving enough that they almost create themselves mindlessly while you’re pleasantly distracted by the conversation.
A craft night party can be a neighborhood get-together, a specific ladies craft night before the Fourth, or just texting a few friends to come over with snacks and scissors.
These fun DIY crafts to do with friends at home are suitable every skill level — from the friend who could honestly sell her work but swears she couldn’t, to the one who isn’t crafty but usually is the most fun at the table.
Before we get rolling, one quick note:
This post is focused purely on the patriotic craft ideas themselves. For everything you need to actually host a craft night party — the setup, the tips, the full hosting guide — head over to this post!
And if you want to save yourself serious prep time, craft kits are an absolute game changer for group nights — everyone purchases their own patriotic craft kits and arrives ready to go. Absolutely lightens the load if you’re hosting and a totally acceptable alternative!
Alright – let’s head to these patriotic group crafts!
