12 Days of Christmas, Day #12: Christmas Table & Home Decor Ideas
If you’re here, you made it to the last day of the 12 Days of Christmas! And to you, I say a very sincere THANK YOU, especially if you’ve been here since Day #1!
That you’ve been along for this ride, all on a crazy idea I had in the shower one morning, I’m so grateful. I truly, truly hope you’ve found more than a few helpful, FREE ideas you can use this season.
Today is the last day, Day #12, so let’s get to it!

Day 12, Christmas Table Decor Ideas: Centerpieces, Place Settings, & Tablescapes
The main focus today is a Christmas table, but at the end of the post, I linked up Christmas decor ideas for the entire home!
Our dining table is a main hub, so it’s not realistic for us to keep up a super-pretty Christmas tablescape all month long. As we get closer to having guests, that’s when the magic happens.
The Tablescape Secret Everyone Has Been Keeping
On Thanksgiving, after I was sitting on the couch in my turkey food coma, I was looking through Facebook and Instagram, seeing all the Thanksgiving photos my friends and family were sharing.
And let me tell you what I discovered:
SO many tables were set with paper dishes and plastic utensils!
Y’all – I LOVE this! Sometimes you can see so many fancy tables on social media and think you’re wimping out on a festive tablescape if you’re not using fancy or breakable dishes & metal flatware.
NOT TRUE!
It is totally acceptable to set your table with paper and plastic, and have it look amazing! I’ve done this for Thanksgiving tablescapes and for Easter tablescapes... I haven’t for Christmas, to be totally honest, but now I feel great about doing that! I hope you do, too!
And, any of these Christmas tablescapes can be modified to use paper and plastic. There are so many gorgeous versions you can get at Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Target, Walmart – even Dollar Tree (yes, there, too!).
There is no need whatsoever to break the bank on fancy Christmas dining ware, unless you want to!
I just could not imagine using non-disposable dishes for 12 people and loading my dishwasher multiple times or having them build up in my sink.
Paper and plastic saves so much time and energy, and we are ALL about that here!
Here is one I created! I think it’s perfect even for a fancy Christmas table!
So, that being said, here are 35 + gorgeous Christmas tablescapes you can create if you’re having a sit-down dinner.
Here are a few of mine I’ve created in the past few years – some fancier than others, but I really just go with how I’m feeling that year.
And if you’re having it buffet style, you can still be inspired by the tablescapes, just minus the place settings.
Or if you really just want to keep it simple, a singular Christmas centerpiece is all you really need either. Centerpieces are ideal for busy tables, where you can easily remove it when you’re doing other things at the table.
They are also great when you know you’re going to have a large spread of food on the table, and every inch is precious real estate.
